While my camera performed better than I expected from a late-90's era 2.7MP DSLR, I didn't fare so well, coming home with far fewer "keepers" than I would have liked. My greatest problem was that I either didn't set up a tripod or failed to increase the ISO to get more DOF in many landscape shots that needed it, and frequently I also got motion blur from lack of tripod usage. This experience has taught me that for me personally, even though the D1 is 2 stops faster than Velvia, I still must slow down and use a tripod - not only to prevent blur and enable slower exposures, but also to force a slower and more thoughtful pace of composition.

I was looking at status of my EAD I applied on 15th October'2008 online at TSC.Status shows that my card has been ordered for production on 31st October.I received letter for Biometric appointment on 5th November. I went to ASC on Saturday( 11/1/2008) and had my fingerprinting done.

How can they order the card on 31st october when my biometrics were done by that date and my appointment was set for 5th Nov 2008 ? Anybody faced the same situation? I had gone for finger printing for I-485 this January.

That is why it is USCIS. You never expect a pattern from or Standard Operating Procedure, it is random...
I wonder if you will receive the actual card without fingerprints.

Hi,

My 6 year H1B ends on April 17/2011 with Company A. Company A applied for my PERM on 15th Jan 2010.

Now I am planning to switch a company B(my interview is next week and I think I will clear that interview) to a Permanent JOB. If I get through that Company B. How soon they have to apply for my H1B transfer?

If company B apply PERM on June 2010(due to company B policy), is their any issue to get 7th yr of extension on June 2010 PERM? Or is it possible to apply for 7th year of extension Company A PERM application.

Please respond with your suggestions.

I am on F1 visa. I enrolled in one of the university. I don't attend university in person. I do attend classes online from another state. My question is that I am resident of which state ?? Will I be automatically resident of state where exactly my university is ? I know it is mandatory to attend classes in person on F1. Can you please advise ? How is residency considered ?

Hi All,

Me and my wife are on EAD. We want to open LLC. Right now I am doing consulting in IT firm. My wife is not working anywhere. What are TAX and immigration consequences if we open LLC on my wife's name?

Questions we have..

1. Can I become parnter easily once my status got changed from EAD to GC?
2. Once my wife start LLC, can she work for another company e.g. Software consulting?
3. What would be tax bracket for my owner of LLC?

In Canada, most people get a short version of their birth certificate. This is what I had and what was submitted. There is a long version, like a registration certificate, that most Canadians don't carry around and wouldn't order and that is now what USCIS requires. I didn't know that until the very end of my meeting for permanent residency. On the sheet/notification, it says that I have 90 days to submit the document, the long form of the birth certificate as "failure to comply with this request will be deemed grounds for denial of your application for lack of presecution". Although I immediately requested my birth certificate from the Canadian government, I have had to fight to get it pushed through fast enough and they now tell me it's processed but somewhere in the mail. I'm down to the last couple of days with no way of knowing where it is.

It happened to us. We applied in Oct'06. Received the H4 approval notice in Jan'07. Only then I started tracking H1. My attorney called USCIS in Feb, they told him, we approved H1 (H4 will not be approved until H1 is..), but forgot to mail H1 approval. They never updated their system to reflect it. They also told him that they sent my approval notice to central storage facility, and have to order it to come back, only then it can be sent. Just 2 days back I got my approval confirmation email. Still waiting for the paper. Good luck with your case.

Hello Guys,

I have a quick question about my I-140 petition. Initially I had applied for my I 140 which USCIS was about to deny claiming that they did not receive the RFE response. During that time, I had applied for a new I 140 application assuming that they would deny my old application. In the meanwhile, USCIS sent me a letter asking me to send the RFE documents again for my original application, which I did again and they approved my old application. I did not inform USCIS about closing the new application and as per my lawyer, I did not need to do that.

Now after almost a year, I got an update from USCIS on the second I 140 application for RFE. My question is should I inform USCIS that they do not need to worry about this application since my original application is already approved or should I just ignore this RFE?

Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

I was on H1.. but i quit my job and i am currently enrolled as a Full time student.
I need to go to Mexico as part of my Study program....

I have received the change of status from USCIS..but i need to get my passport stamped..

I have not been successful in getting an appointment in Canada....

1. He has EAD and H1B both valid till 2010. What should he use to get a jbo, ead ot h1b, what are some of the good reasons to avoid using ead as ar as possible?

2. Is he eligible for unemployment allowance.

no it doesnt....check on ..there are so many people getting consecutive luds...but then they dont get approvals. in the end it means that its a new lud. someone accessed your case and the lud was either because some accessed it or it was a system generated lud.

i hope that eb2-june03-dude gets his green soon...but the lud doesnt mean anything

This looks like the hallmark of a gang initiation ritual. The teens were probably asked to carry out an act of this nature before the gang would consider them to be tough enough. So they drive around, pick a random person, and beat him up, and the hapless victim ends up dead. Sad and bizarre.
