Do you have Office 2004 installed? This brings huge font problems, so this might not have anything to do with 10.3.7. Just an idea.
Dont know about thie iTunes thing, though.

Good news, let's hope these rumors are true. This would help round out the iWork suite even more, and I may actually consider purchasing it if this is the case. For now, I'll hang onto my Office v.X though...

could be. but honestly i don't think that's a good thing. it just makes the equipment more expensive, clunky and less capable than dedicated devices. after all you don't need that feat all the time. only once in a while and then you bring the extra gps. cramming a gps in nowadays small P&S or even DSLR's is just expensive and complicated.
my two cents.
Every cell phone sold in the US has to have a working GPS device in it, and the GPS has to be "on" at all times.
Cost and power consumption are hardly issues. The only extra cost is adding an interface to the GPS unit to get the latest location data (which might be the front door of the building you're in if you're inside). The only extra power consumption is that needed to initiate and react to that poll, which is negligible (obviously).
But, yes, adding such a feature on a straight digicam or DSLR wouldn't necessarily make much sense. However, compared to the cost of an external GPS, which records "breadcrumbs" constantly (instead of just when you take a picture, because it doesn't know when you take a picture) and has enough memory and battery to hold said breadcrumbs throughout a, say, two-day road trip, integrating a low-power GPS into a camera doesn't sound all that far-fetched. But, I don't see camera makers doing that until GPS-locating of photos shows signs of taking off, which it doesn't, yet.

I'm looking to buy an extra MBP battery, because one just won't cut it.
I'm in a situation where I need to use my MBP for 8 hours straight without any power outlet at my disposal.
Now I was wondering if there's an alternative way to charge an MBP internal battery, externally? Because it would be a real pain to change batteries each time I want to recharge one of them.
Or, are there any alternatives you know of to suit my needs?
Thanks in advance!

How tall is the stand? Could be the stand height plus the height the iMac display is at. Try just removing the monitor stand and have the iMac on the desk by itself since the chin of the iMac sort of raises the viewing of it a bit

I'd probably try a simple update instead of a clean install.
And considering that you've got a decent backup of your system (right? :D), it shouldn't be a problem if that goes wrong. You can still do a clean install in that case and migrate your data from your backup.

Hi again :)
Now I'm looking for some cases for my iPhones (3GS and 4), and I was thinking to buy these cases (Feather cases by Incipio):
http://www.myincipio.com/iPhone-4-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-iPhone-4-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
http://www.myincipio.com/iPhone-3G-3GS-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-iPhone-3G-3GS-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
But I'd like to know if these cases are really good.
I've been searching through other pages but Incipio is one of the pages who takes less for shipping them + 3GS case has 50% of discount.
Also I was thinking about buying Zagg's screen protectors for 3GS and 4.
Is this a good deal?
Thanks in advance ;)

Hi,
I just bought an iPhone 4, and was looking for a nice wallpaper. Then I saw the default surfing wallpaper, it looked nice to me and I setted it as wallpaper. I also did this for my iPad, now I want it too for my MBP 13''. So I moved the wallpaper from my iPad to my Mac, but it looks horrible as the resolution is 1024 x 704. My Mac's resolution is 1280 x 800. It just doesn't look nice. So in iPhoto I resized it to 1280 x 800 but it still doesn't look nice. I dont' have Photoshop, but I know with Photoshop you can do almost everything with a picture. So can you 'master photoshoppers' please resize the image to
1280 x 800 without pixelization, as I'm almost certain that is possible in Photoshop.
Thanks

Thank you. In fact, I have already downloaded the iPad 2 manual, as well as AppStart for iPad (free). The more I think about it the less likely it appears that I will get a lot out of a independent print book (e.g. Missing Manual, etc). Thanks again.

Wrong way round - it's userland, therefore WILL be tethered. See explanation here:
http://bit.ly/gN060d
actually, there are untethered userland jailbreaks. Look at the jailbreakme.com exploit from 4.0 / 4.0.1 for the iPhone 4.

The problem is, it's not "defective", LCD manufacturers are allowed a certain amount of imperfections due to the manufacturing process. It sucks big time I know, but I don't think there is much you can do about it :(

i have ipad2 with 4.3 after i saved the shsh using tinyumbrella it shows 4.3.1 in the list of saved shsh, but it does show 4.3 in the installed fw. is that normal?
Yes, perfectly normal. It saves SHSH for the most recent firmware, regardless of which firmware is installed on your device.

Ok, I am interested in fooling around with making movies of my gaming, just think it would be fun.
I have the Mac and the DV Camera (or VCR) with S-Video input...but my Radeon 9000 does not have S-Video out.
If I were to put another card with S-Video out into my G4 I know I could output video...but could I output what was being rendered by my 9000??
See..I would not want to use a weaker card like the Radeon 7000 w/ vid out to play games, but I obviously cant use the 9000 to output the video.
Also, is there any alternatives to getting video streamed out of your Mac? I have a DV camera and Firewire...is there a way to stream right over that?

Technically AM3 CPUs will work in AM2+ boards. Problem is that DDR2 is a dead end at this point. DDR3 is so cheap nowadays I see no reason in not buying it and enabling yourself to use newer CPUs and chipsets.
As far retail stores - vast majority of people working at those stores don't have a clue. Also, not to sound sexist but why would you ask women to begin with? Yes, I've seen women that know about this stuff but they are rare and far between. Of course not to say that I can't imagine hearing such nonsense from a male employee.

I have to disagree with this comment, its not the Iphone man is USA's Networks. over here in england i have had no dropped calls (not a single one) beit the Iphone 3GS, 3G or 4 not a single dropped call and i am sure the majority of Iphone users here would state this.
Clearly not otherwise the rest of the world would also be having dropped calls. We don't get any noticeable dropped calls from the i4 over here.
Living outside of the US it's funny as the dropped call thing always seems to affect American users the most yet people leap to the conclusion it is a problem with the phone. I have owned the original iPhone, 3G and iPhone 4 in the family and no issues here in the UK with dropped calls on any of the phones.
Obviously had a few dropped calls over the years but it is not that frequent. I did notice that the iPhone had worse reception in very low signal areas (all Models) compared to my Dad's old Nokia which has a small external transmitter but then again that Nokia beats every smart phone I have ever seen for reception.
Although I don't think any device with an internal antenna is going to out perform one with an external antenna but taking the rest of the world into account AT&T are definitely a factor in the dropped calls as they seem to be way more frequent in the USA on AT&T than other service providers around the world.
I agree with these. I've not had any problems with dropped calls in Northern Ireland either.

Nice -- i think this MBP 1,1 in question was bought used (through macofalltrades) but was once under applecare as well. I think that might tip the scales in his favor a bit as well.
