You are missing it arn't you. When people do a graph to compare smart phone OSs they do not take the graph and account tablets, MP3 players or tvs they only count the items that are sold as phones.

I often do see apple users making comparisons to android such as "Androids have worst battery life." which is a broad comparison to it. It is also not true. The Atrix now holds the title as the longest lasting smart phone OS.

Why would you ever make a comparison like that? That's like comparing "laptop OS" versus "desktop OS". They're the same thing. Doesn't make a difference what device it's on, it's still the same OS. Is is that tough for you to understand?

Give me ONE compelling reason why you would ever compare just the phones segment.

Figured I'd post the original in a seperate post as well. This is the full one before resizing to fit into the avatar specs, just thought it looked cool when it had all the frames and larger size. Just wanted to share...

Is there a reason those charts in the opening post have to be so large?

It's so the growing number of aging Social Security benificiaries can read them. :D

Every time there's a patent or copyright article and people go off the deep end calling these companies crazy/evil, etc, I wish the article would indicate the fact that they are actually required to do so or risk losing their patent/trademarks. Doesn't even matter if they want to or not.

Why would the article indicate that ? You do not risk losing patents by not suing over them. That's only applicable to trademarks.

I don't think that I'm physically able to give blood.
I had to get 2 of those small vials they use for blood tests, and I couldn't even walk and passed out. That is not a lot of blood.
I don't weigh very much (107 lbs 5'8"). Is this normal or something about which I should be concerned?

I'd say that is rather light indeed. If this is the only problem you experience with it, though, I'd say you needn't be too concerned. Just try to put on a few pounds in the long run, no biggy. And until then, your own physical health comes first.

BIG thumbs up to MacRumors for doing this, and to all who donate. I've donated a few times, always got me feel sick for about an hour or so afterwards, sometimes more than others. Since it didn't seem to be decreasing after a few donations, I decided to not donate for a while. Actions like these get me to reconsider. Which is a good thing IMO.

Edit: And as to the gay men being unable to: that sucks. I'm not wanting to get into the discussion, but I think I see where it comes from and I think it's kinda ********.

It all comes down to the Malcolm X vs MLK school of thoughr. You can either use violent confrontation as opposed to serious aggressive non violent confrontation.

As with anything in history, there's a right balance and a need for both violence and diplomacy together in order for one group to obtain favorable circumstances...or simply dominate another group. The truth is that humans don't "live in peace". Our whole existance is actually due to the fact that we kill eachother. Otherwise, we would just be like any other lower animal.

My evidence? common sense through experiences, i've seen this situation enough.
In other words, you got nothing. You are saying it should be obvious. I disagree. Your personal observations are anecdotal. It is indeed easy to understand how you might feel as you do, but to declare your opinion to be fact because, well, you feel that way and it should be obvious is a bit like telling everyone all about god. Some will nod their heads, others will gleefully describe your filling. Unless there is good solid evidence to support this "common sense", it is about as valid as Hogwarts.
Okay, what do you think about the Sharia Law?
Personally, I find theocracy distasteful, but to describe Shari'a as stupid extremist ideology is absurd. From what I have read of it, much is a fairly reasonable social code. Hardly any worse than what prevailed through most of Europe's history.

I know in 10.4 you can enable the machine as an xgrid client. Can you run the server portion in 10.4 or do you have to have the 10.4 server?

I shouldn't be saying this...but comparing this and the Stanford Shopping Center thread, it would appear that the latter is the place to go for a last minute pickup tomorrow (though I'm sure they're getting fewer).

This is great. I like the addition of European blood into the Moderator folk to help with additional time zones.
Nermal might be a bit offended by that. ;)

Even one example of someone being killed by the state for something they did not do invalidates the whole edifice of capital punishment.

I use Google Talk on my BlackBerry quite often. It's a great program. I would assume that iChat support needs to be standard on an iPhone. If they added VOIP later on, that would be AMAZING! They haven't added it to Google Talk yet, because that would use the data network and not run up your minutes, which service providers don't want to do.

I have been very rude about phones on previous posts, but I also said (check those posts!) that if it integrated a touch-screen vPod and Blackberry style capability, it would be cool. Which it is! And yes its expensive, but so were top range iPods. Leopard will come. More importantly, personal electronics have jsut changed.

A new iOS update appeared in iTunes today. Does one need to download a new Xcode + SDK (multi-GB .dmg) after installing 4.3.2 on ones iPhone build-and-run apps?

Today I plugged in my iPod nano. Usually my iPod will appear and start to sync but instead a box appeared and says "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes"

I clicked on the Restore button and when it is finished, the same box pops up telling me that I need to restore it. I tried several times and nothing is working. I dont know what is going on and i have tried everything.

If anyone knows what to do I will be very thankful !!

If Apple wasn't doing something creepy for advertising purposes, they were at least thinking about it.

Google's slogan is what, "Don't be evil?" They don't always succeed. I'd suggest one thing to Apple "Don't be Google."
